Don't Ruin ANOTHER Friendship

Nicole, Hey – How’s Georgia?  Things are pretty good here.  I just wanted to say thank you for writing me.  That was really sweet.  It is comforting to know that I don’t’ have to lock my windows when you’re in town!  J/j.  I hope everything works out for you.  So – I know John will be there in Georgia over Valentine’s Day.  I’m not asking you not to see him, I’m just asking you to keep in mind that he has a girlfriend and I love him a lot.  Don’t ruin another friendship “like you and Natalie” like you did with Jessie.  I don’t mean any of this in a mean way.  I would really like to be friends and meet you someday.  I hope to see you soon.  Love, Marisa

This letter is technically from high school, but the saga began in middle school so I’m including it.  The story goes like this:  I was dating John when I moved to Georgia that previous summer, but then he started high school and met Marisa and I guess he decided long distance was stupid and I was toast.  There were rumors going around that I hated her and wanted to beat her up (because I'm aggressive and violent like that), so I sent her a nice letter telling her "I ain't mad at cha - I got nothing but love for ya".  Or something along those lines.  Shortly thereafter he called me asking if we could meet up while he was visiting Georgia, and this somehow got back to Marisa.  Probably through Natalie and her big mouth.  Oh, there was one other thing I forgot to mention.  John was kiiiiiiiiiiiind of dating my friend Jessie when I met him, and he kiiiiiiiiind of dumped her to start dating me.  This was before I committed to the whole "chicks before dicks" thing, so that was what Marisa meant by “don’t ruin another friendship like you did with Jessie”.   Long story short - we never met up.  Probably because he was a giant tool bag.  In fact I think he ended up cheating on Marisa with Courtney.  As did every other girl's boyfriend in high school, so I hear.  Sorry, that was totally uncalled for.  I think these notes are starting to bring out my inner 8th-grade bitch...
